Safety maintenance of excavators Safety precautions to be taken during the daily maintenance of excavators to avoid personal injury and equipment damage caused by improper maintenance.
1. Understanding inspection and maintenance methods: Incorrect maintenance not only damages the machine, but can also lead to personal accidents such as getting caught or burned during the maintenance process. Before conducting inspections and maintenance, please read the user manual thoroughly and fully understand the maintenance methods (tools, qualifications, important parts required for safe operation, identification of operation guidance personnel, wearing protective equipment, etc.), pay attention to safety, and carefully conduct inspections and maintenance.
2. Organizing, tidying up, and cleaning the workplace: During inspection and maintenance, if the construction site is chaotic, it may cause machines to overturn or operators to be injured by debris. Please organize the debris that damages the construction site environment, remove butter, engine oil, paint, and debris, and carry out sorting, rectification, and cleaning for safe operation.
3. Warning signs during inspection and maintenance: When inspecting and maintaining the machine, if someone starts the engine or moves the control lever, it may cause serious injury, so a "Do Not Operate" sign should be hung on the control lever. If necessary, warning signs should also be placed around the machine.
4. Use appropriate tools: Properly store the tools required for maintenance, do not use them for other purposes, and use appropriate tools for machine maintenance or repair. If objects fall into the machine, it may cause damage or malfunction. When opening the inspection window or fuel tank filling port for inspection, please place the parts or tools away from the open area to avoid falling into the equipment and causing unnecessary injury
5. Attention to high temperature areas: To prevent burns caused by hot water or steam spraying, when inspecting or discharging cooling water, after confirming that the equipment has cooled down to the point where it can be touched with bare hands, slowly loosen the cap and wait for the internal pressure in the radiator to be released before unscrewing it. To prevent burns caused by high temperature oil spraying or contact with high temperature parts, when inspecting or discharging oil, after confirming that the equipment has cooled down to the point where it can be touched with bare hands, slowly loosen the cap and plug and wait for the internal pressure to be released before unscrewing it
6. Pay attention to high-pressure oil: There is always internal pressure in the hydraulic circuit. Do not perform refueling, draining, or inspection and maintenance operations until the internal pressure is zero. Even if high-pressure oil leaks out from a small hole, it is still quite dangerous to come into contact with the skin or eyes. Please wear goggles and gloves, and place thick paper or board items on the leak area for inspection. If high-pressure oil enters the body due to contact with high-pressure oil, please go to the hospital immediately for treatment.
7. Pay attention to rotating parts: If they are caught up by rotating parts such as fan blades or belts, it may cause serious injury accidents. Maintenance and other operations can only be carried out after the rotating part has completely stopped. When maintenance must be carried out while the engine is running, it is necessary to follow the following instructions: one person must be sitting in the driver's seat and ensure that the engine is shut down immediately upon receiving a shutdown message from others.
8. Pay attention to ventilation: If maintenance work is carried out indoors or in poorly ventilated areas, it can easily lead to gas poisoning. Especially for easily diffusing substances such as engine exhaust, fuel, cleaning oil, and coatings, they are prone to accumulate to a certain harmful concentration in enclosed spaces, so adequate ventilation is necessary. When performing maintenance or operation indoors, extend the exhaust pipe to the outside and open doors and windows to allow air circulation; Or please set up a ventilation fan as needed.
